Our client is a leading customer home builder, located in the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area of the Valley. Known for exceptional craftmanship and a client-centered approach, the Company is looking to proactively expand its financial leadership as it continues to grow its operations. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented construction accounting professional who wants ownership over financial reporting, WIP analysis, budgeting, and cash flow, partnering directly with ownership to drive strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities Own the Company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Oversee construction job costing and ensure costs are accurately captured and allocated to appropriate projects. Prepare and analyze WIP reports and project financials. Review budget-to-actual performance and identify project and company-level variances. Monitor project profitability and provide timely and meaningful financial insight to ownership and project leadership. Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements and ensure timely month-end close. Establish and maintain efficient month-end and annual financial processes. Manage company-level financial reporting and provide leadership with clear, actionable information. Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, budgeting and financial planning. Serve as a primary financial resource for ownership and help translate financial data with business decisions. Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes through technology and systems. Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure financial information is accurate and reliable. Lead the development and implementation of improved financial processes a the Company continues its growth. Support additional financial and operational initiatives as needed. Key Client Requirements Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager or similar leadership-level role. Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is strongly preferred; an MBA or CPA is also preferred but not required. Strong construction accounting experience is required. Experience with ground-up construction, customer home building, remodeling, or a construction-related trade/subcontractor environment is strong preferred. Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, and project profitability. Experience overseeing or performing monthly financial close and financial statement preparation. Experience managing other financial team members strongly preferred.
