$100,000-$140,000 per year Chicken Maison is a family-owned restaurant company with locations across Southern California. We're looking for a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and help our leadership team make sound decisions as the business grows. This is a hands-on role for someone who can deliver accurate financial reporting, strengthen controls, and turn restaurant data into practical insights. You'll work closely with ownership and operations while guiding the finance team. What you'll do Lead the monthly and annual close and prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversee the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll accounting. Analyze sales, labor, food costs, inventory, margins, and profitability across locations. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting, and identify opportunities to improve performance. Strengthen cash handling, purchasing, inventory, and other financial controls. Prepare clear financial reports and explain results and recommendations to ownership and operations leaders. Oversee accounting systems and improve how financial and point-of-sale data is collected, checked, and reported. Support timely tax and regulatory filings, year-end reporting, and work with external accountants and advisers. Lead and develop accounting staff, with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. What you bring At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for a month-end close and financial statement preparation. Experience with a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or other multi-location business strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software, payroll systems, and point-of-sale data. Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff. The ability to explain financial information clearly to people outside finance. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. CPA is a plus.
