We are currently seeking a Corporate Controller for a client in the construction and hospitality industry. The Corporate Controller will oversee core accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting support, and compliance activities. This role will partner closely with the CFO, senior leadership, external accounting partners, lenders, and internal operations teams to support sound financial management and continued growth. Key Responsibilities Oversee financial accounting processes and project-level reporting, including month-end close, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards. Partner with the CFO and operational leadership to monitor project budgets, financial performance, and cost controls. Support external accounting firm activities, including financial statement reviews/audits, annual federal and state tax returns, sales tax filings, and related reporting. Manage lender reporting requirements and compliance with lending covenants; proactively communicate potential concerns to the CFO. Oversee third-party payroll and benefits administration vendors, as well as Accounting staff responsible for accounts payable and timely vendor payments. Analyze financial data, systems, and payment applications to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency. Perform additional financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as assigned by the CFO. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles. Demonstrated experience managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with budgeting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and project-level financial reporting. Familiarity with audit support, tax reporting, lender compliance, and accounts payable processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional leaders, vendors, lenders, and external accounting partners. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of construction and/or hospitality industry dynamics that impact profitability and cash flow is strongly preferred.
