Job Description
Position Summary:
The Director of Finance is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization. Thisrole ensures fiscal integrity, compliance with nonprofit and government funding requirements, and accurate financialreporting. The Director of Finance supports executive leadership and the Board of Directors with strategic financial planning and analysis.Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee daily financial operations, including general ledger management Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Monitor cash flow, revenue, and expenditures Ensure timely reconciliation of all financial accounts Develop and manage the annual organizational budget Collaborate with leadership and department heads on budget planning Provide financial forecasting and variance analysis Support long-term financial strategy and sustainability planning Manage financial tracking for all grants and restricted funding sources Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and private funder requirements Prepare and submit accurate financial reports to funders Maintain proper documentation for all grant expenditures Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Maintain strong internal financial controls and safeguard assets Coordinate annual independent audits Support preparation of IRS Form 990 and related filings Other duties as assigned by managmentExperience/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector. Proven experience in managing financial operations of multi-division organizations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audits. Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The Prince George's Arts & Humanities Council is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
