Controller Metro Detroit Area | Hybrid Opportunities Available Are you a hands-on accounting leader looking to make an impact with a growing organization? We are partnering with several established companies in the manufacturing and construction industries seeking experienced Controllers to lead accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support strategic business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who enjoy balancing day-to-day accounting leadership with process improvement, operational support, and executive-level partnership. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities Manage internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and operational performance Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members Coordinate annual audits and support tax compliance activities Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy Monitor project, job cost, inventory, manufacturing, or operational performance metrics depending on the business environment Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls Experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, engineering, contracting, or related industries preferred ERP system experience, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, Sage, Plex, Epicor, or similar platforms CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus What We're Looking For Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and executive leadership Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset Proven track record of improving processes and driving business performance Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, bonus potential, comprehensive benefits package, 401(k), paid time off, and career growth opportunities available.
