This role supports the CFO in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. The Assistant Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting tasks, monitor financial transactions, and contribute to the development of financial strategies that support the club's goals. Key Responsibilities Financial Close & Reporting (Full Ownership) Execute and manage monthly and year-end close process Maintain and enforce close calendar and deadlines across departments Prepare complete financial reporting package (P&L, balance sheet, KPIs) Draft variance analysis and management commentary for CFO review Budgeting & Forecasting Develop annual operating and capital budget models Coordinate departmental submissions and consolidate budgets Maintain rolling forecasts and update financial projections Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management Oversee AP processing, vendor management, and invoice approvals Manage billing, collections, and member receivables Prepare weekly cash reports and payment recommendations Reconciliations & Internal Controls Perform and review all account reconciliations Maintain supporting schedules and audit-ready documentation Enforce internal controls, policies, and approval procedures Payroll & Tax Compliance Oversee payroll processing and reporting Prepare and file sales and use tax returns Support annual tax filings and external audit requirements Systems & Process Management Own and manage accounting systems (Jonas, Beanworks, etc.) Drive process improvements and reporting efficiencies Ensure data integrity across systems Operational Support & Analysis Provide financial analysis to department heads Monitor departmental and event-level performance Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by the CFO or management. Assist in system upgrades or changes in accounting software as needed. Support cost control initiatives and budget adherence Performance Expectations Close completed on time and without material error Financial reporting delivered accurately and consistently Strong control environment with minimal audit adjustments Proactive identification of financial risks and variances Time Commitment Full-time (40-45 hours per week typical) Up to 50-55 hours during peak periods (month-end, audit, budget)
Compensation Base Salary:
$110,000
Bonus:
$15,000
Total Compensation:
$125,000
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CPA track preferred but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality, club, or similar industry. Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Jonas Club Software is a plus). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay:
$110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
