Controller Williams Fire & Hazard Control is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the company's accounting and financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, providing financial reporting and analysis, and helping company leadership make informed business decisions. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working in a growing business environment and can take ownership of the company's accounting function. This position is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm officing in Port Arthur, TX. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial policies.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and company financial performance.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful reporting to company ownership and management.
• Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improved profitability and cost control.
• Coordinate with outside corporate office and CPA/accounting firms regarding tax filings, audits, and other financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist management with financial planning, capital expenditures, purchasing decisions, and other business initiatives.
• Monitor job/project profitability and provide financial reporting as needed.
• Maintain appropriate controls over company assets, expenses, purchasing, and cash.
• Assist with insurance, banking, bonding, vendor, and other financial relationships.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, employee, customer, and company information.
• Perform other financial and accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with accounting software required, Sage100 preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also partnering effectively with company leadership.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a privately held or closely held business.
• Experience working in a construction, fire protection, service, manufacturing, or project-based environment.
• Experience with job costing and project profitability.
• Experience with inventory accounting.
• Experience developing budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and internal controls.
