Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from 9th grade through their transition years within a school cooperative environment. This is a full-time position, offering 37.5 hours per week during the academic year, spanning from August 12, 2026, to May 21, 2027. You'll work Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute duty-free lunch, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Ideal candidates bring a wealth of occupational therapy experience, particularly in educational and healthcare settings. Your background in fine and gross motor skills, as well as home health and school-based OT, will enable you to make a significant impact across the cooperative's caseload. Your expertise will be key in supporting students' growth and independence as they navigate pivotal academic and life transitions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Illinois OT license for the 2026/2027 school year Demonstrated experience with fine and gross motor skill development for school-aged students Previous school-based occupational therapy experience highly preferred Background in home health or healthcare settings is advantageous Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy interventions to students from 9th grade through transition Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support individualized educational plans (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adapt treatment plans as needed Serve the OT needs cooperative-wide by supporting multiple schools within the system Maintain accurate records and support compliance with regulatory standards This position offers a unique chance to positively shape students' lives as they prepare for adulthood.
