Haul Truck Driver

Job Summary The Off-Highway Haul Truck Operator's position is to have a basic comprehension of navigation through a mine site. The operator must be able to understand the appropriate ore yard locations, dumps, and stockpiles. The Haul Truck Operator must always be aware of their surroundings and the safe operation of equipment. The applicant is expected to demonstrate an understanding of minor maintenance tasks such as fueling, minor repairs, and other ancillary duties as deemed necessary. A willingness to cross-train on alternative equipment is required. Job Description Key Responsibilities The ability to operate various heavy equipment as needed to meet production demands. Keep an adequate record of daily tasks and work permits. Must understand right-of-way traffic. Perform pre shift walk around of equipment. Maintain the Elementis safety culture team environment and promptly report any near misses and incidents to the mine supervisor, mine manager, and HSE manager. What will it take

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

2-3 years of experience operating various equipment, including haul trucks, water trucks, loaders, dozers, forklifts, a screen plant, and can easily learn other mine equipment if needed.

Special Requirements and Independency:

Have and maintain a valid California driver's license. Must be able to work overtime if needed. Must be able to be ATF Cleared and work with and around explosives.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand, walk, reach, stoop, squat, climb ramps & stairs, push and pull, reach at or below waist level and occasionally overhead, drive (forklift), hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds (machinery alarms). This position works in an open pit mining facility, and will work indoors, outdoors, and inside of air-conditioned equipment. This position requires a fit for duty physical.

IT Skills:

Basic Computer knowledge of Microsoft programs.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and write in English.

Problem Solving:

The ability to identify problems and decide on the best solution.

Teamwork/Management:

Ability to coordinate with a team and managers for a safe worksite.

Communication:

Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills. Salary Range The base pay rate is $34.95. In addition to hiring pay, compensation package may include additional components such as health benefits, life insurance, 401K, vacation.
