An Art Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

Responsibilities We are currently looking for a Master level Therapist to join our team. We have Full time and PRN positions available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients. Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups. Responsible for interviewing and developing the psychosocial history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries. Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team. Liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or other related fields.
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team, managed care representatives, adults and patient families in a clear and concise manner.
