Job Description

The Behavior Technician will be responsible for providing positive, compassionate, supportive services to people with complex behavioral needs in a 2:1 staffing ratio.

Designated Coordinator Pay Rate:
$18.00 per hour for onboarding/training, $25.00 per hour once in-ratio What a
Behavior Technician Does:
Work with individual to overcome behavioral challenges with a person-centered approach and compassionate care Assist individual with daily activities, like personal care, meal preparation, transportation to appointments or events, and engaging with the community, all while advocating for and encouraging their independence Maintain a clean, safe space in partnership with the individual served, ensuring comfort, support, and goal achievement Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to the individual served so they may thrive, grow, and enjoy their life Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to the individual, as well as complete and maintain accurate, required compliance reporting Maintain positive working relationship with peers, managers, and care team Other duties and responsibilities as needed Required Education and Qualifications Must be 21 years of age One of the three educational requirements below, with additional training, certifications, and leadership experience considered: o Four-year degree in a related field, such as but not limited to human services, social work, healthcare, nursing, or psychology o Two-year degree in a related field, with two years of experience working with individuals with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs, in a residential, group home, behavioral health, or psychiatric setting o High School Diploma or GED plus three years of experience working with individuals with significant negative behaviors, such as verbal aggression, physical aggression, elopement, property destruction, and invasion of personal space. Ability to successfully complete a Minnesota State Background Study with fingerprinting Valid Driver's License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation Clear communicator through verbal, written, and electronic means (e.g. Microsoft Office products, email, text messaging) Compassion and ability to advocate for and empower people with non-linear life paths Previous employment experience in a 245D-regulated capacity Knowledge and experience with positive behavior support plans Experience working with people with complex mental health and/or behavioral conditions EOE / E-Verify Employer / Learn more about us: mncareservices.com
