Description Job Title Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level I/II Location Northern Light Health Bangor, ME Description Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level I/II is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions using advanced technical knowledge.
- Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair actions.
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls.
- Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
- Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 0630-1500 or 0700-1530 ET
Important:
On-Call Availability may be required for this position Qualifications- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate, or Active
AAMI ACI
credentials.- 1-3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) strongly preferred. Contract Length
- 3-year contract with options for 2 additional years. Salary
- $ 20.00 -$34.13 Per hour.
