Staff Full Time Job Description The Simulation Technician provides high-level technical expertise and physical execution for all high-fidelity manikin-based and task-trainer simulation events at major campus hubs. This role ensures the flawless operation of simulation spaces, audio-visual technology, and medical equipment. In a matrixed shared-services deployment model, this position functions under a dual-reporting framework. While reporting administratively to the centralized Director of Simulation and SP Programming, the Technician operates under the direct functional, day-to-day programmatic supervision of the local Program Director (or designated program faculty) during the planning, dry-running, and execution of program-specific curricular events to satisfy programmatic staff adequacy and autonomy standards (e.g., ARC-PA Standards A2.11 and A2.12). Position Responsibility & Independent Judgment Statement The Simulation Technology Specialist operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters of operational and educational significance to the university's academic programs. Operational & Administrative Autonomy:
Independently evaluates multi-campus program needs to formulate and execute logistical strategy, resource allocation, and travel schedules without direct day-to-day oversight. Determines project priorities, work hours, and site deployment to ensure seamless program execution.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Logistics Design:
Serves as a primary operational liaison to program partners, advising academic leadership on logistics, exam flow design, and simulation space utilization to optimize educational outcomes.
Standardization & Policy Implementation:
Develops, implements, and enforces standardized operating procedures and safety protocols for simulation technology and laboratory environments across all designated campus locations.
Technical & Instructional Consultation:
Evaluates simulation technologies, recommends capital acquisitions, and collaborates with faculty to design and adapt technical setups to meet complex curricular goals. Required Qualifications Successful acquisition of the CHSOS or CHSE credential through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare within two years of hire required Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, healthcare, or related field. Job Duties Technical Operations:
Own control room operations, program simulator software interfaces, and run real-time physiological changes during active simulations
Lab Execution:
Lead physical room setups, moulage application, medical supply provisioning, and post-encounter cleanups
Maintenance & Tech Support:
Conduct preventative maintenance, software updates, and basic hardware repairs for all manikins; manage local hardware inventory
On-Site Assistance:
Provide immediate technical troubleshooting for faculty and students during active lab sessions

Assist in triggering cloud-based SimCapture recording sessions linked to the centralized schedule
