We have an incredible opportunity for a staff Perfusionist. Enjoy the sunny skies in beautiful San Diego with views of the Pacific Ocean in this gorgeous coastal city! With a renowned cardiac team, excellent surgeons and the support of our expert leaders we are ready to welcome you to the team! We serve seven cardiac surgeons for about 700 procedures annually, including a leading-edge TAVR program. We currently cover four hospitals, providing service for a range of procedures. We are also associated with the UCSD Hospital ECMO program in La Jolla, CA, providing an "initiate and transport" service.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience; Ability to work on Call Bachelor's degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Perfusionist program. Certified as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. The following competencies are highly valued: Focused on clinical quality and delivering the absolute best results for patients. Ability to adapt and thrive in a high stress environment necessary. Excellent communication skills and basic computer skills are essential. Someone who works well independently and as a part of the OR team. Responsibilities Operate and troubleshoot advanced perfusion equipment such as heart-lung machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and cell salvage devices during surgical procedures. Collaborate closely with surgical teams to develop and implement perfusion strategies tailored to each patient's needs. Monitor vital signs, blood flow, oxygenation levels, and other critical parameters throughout surgeries to maintain physiological stability. Manage inventory control of DME (Durable Medical Equipment), supplies, and pharmaceuticals necessary for perfusion procedures, ensuring proper inventory management. Assist with intraoperative procedures such as cardiopulmonary bypass, cardiothoracic surgery perfusion assistance, and transplant surgery support. Collect and analyze data related to clinical outcomes to support continuous improvement initiatives in patient care. Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures. $250,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
