Job Overview:
Community Medical Center is looking for a part-time Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician to work 24 hours in a night time shift.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent, BLS through American Heart Association Successful completion of all Orientation Programs Telemetry and/or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia course
Scheduling Requirements:
Part-Time Every other weekend required, rotating holiday schedule
Essential Functions:
Prepares and educates patients on telemetry transmitter, telemetry monitoring, Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care, Assists new employees in the policy and procedures of the department, Supports the philosophy, objectives, mission and vision of Community Medical Center, Demonstrates compliance when placing patient alarms in suspend and resuming alarms upon patient s return to the unit Performs transmitter to channel number checks daily Notifies RN of episodes of class II arrhythmias and documents appropriately Sets high and low cardiac alarm limits and documents settings on all strips Performs the essential functions of a telemetry runner Recognizes class I and class II arrhythmias and notifies RN through urgent broadcast/urgent call and documents appropriately Recognizes significance of a prolonged PR interval, widened QRS complex and prolonged QT interval Recognizes the significance of changes in the ST/T segment: ST/T elevations and ST/T depressions Documents all elements required for cardiac rhythm strip interpretation Demonstrates competency in arrhythmia interpretation Demonstrates competency in proper application of telemetry transmitter using five lead system
