Coast Surgical Group is looking for a detailed and compassionate individual to join the team as a Referral Coordinator. We are a 7 surgeon, private practice that has been proudly serving the South Bay Community for over 25 years.

Ideal candidates will have:

• clear written and verbal communication skills
• familiarity with basic office technology, Epic experience preferred
• Bilingual, Spanish (required) The position consists of:
• Helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients.
• Obtaining referrals and authorizations from insurance companies for patient treatment via individual insurance company processes.
• Verifing patient eligibility and benefits through insurance companies.
• Maintaining familiarity with contracted insurance companies' processes and procedures for patient care coordination, including all portal login credentials.
• Coordinating patient care with outside providers by assisting in appointment scheduling and following up to ensure that patients have kept their required appointments.
• Clearly communicating status of referrals and authorizations with patients, providers, and support staff and facilitating the resolution of any challenges in the process.
• Gathering necessary reports from outside providers and ensuring proper indexing of the reports within Electronic Health Records.
• Coordinating patient acquisition of Durable Medical Equipment through insurance benefits as needed.
• Maintaining familiarity with all front office duties for cross coverage as needed.
