Tierney Funeral Home & The Green Cremation | Manchester, Connecticut Full-Time | $26-$32 per hour, depending on experience We are looking for an exceptional administrative professional to become a central part of our team at John F. Tierney Funeral Home and The Green Cremation. Funeral service involves an extraordinary number of details. Families rely on us to make sure those details are handled correctly, compassionately and on time. We need someone who loves making that happen. This isn't simply a receptionist or administrative assistant position. We're looking for someone who enjoys being the person behind the scenes who keeps an office organized, paperwork moving, deadlines from being missed and everyone around them a little more effective. The right person will be kind, exceptionally organized and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities. What You'll Do Responsibilities will include: Answering phones and responding to emails professionally and compassionately Preparing, reviewing and maintaining funeral and cremation paperwork Assisting with death certificate information and documentation Preparing and submitting obituaries Assisting with preneed paperwork, contracts and recordkeeping Processing insurance assignments and related documentation Preparing service stationery and printed materials Assisting with memorial slideshows Maintaining accurate electronic and physical files Tracking deadlines, outstanding paperwork and follow-up items Accounts payable and basic bookkeeping support Maintaining vendor, insurance and business records Scheduling and calendar coordination Communicating with families, funeral directors, churches, cemeteries, hospitals, insurance companies and other organizations Supporting the administrative needs of both John F.
