Duties Develop and implement engaging, personalized activities tailored to residents' interests and cognitive abilities within the memory care setting. Facilitate daily resident engagement to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. Collaborate with care staff to understand individual resident needs and preferences, ensuring activities are appropriate and inclusive. Create a warm, welcoming environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community among residents. Monitor and document residents' responses to activities, adjusting approaches as necessary to maximize engagement and satisfaction. Coordinate with family members and external partners to incorporate resident preferences into activity planning. Maintain a safe environment during activities, adhering to safety protocols and best practices for working with individuals with memory impairments. Promote a positive atmosphere that supports dignity, respect, and independence for all residents. Requirements Prior experience in resident engagement, activity coordination, or related roles within senior living or memory care environments is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents experiencing memory challenges. Creative mindset with the ability to design engaging activities suited for individuals with cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, and families. Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents in memory care settings. Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail in documenting resident participation and progress. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in activity coordination or dementia care are advantageous.
