Job Summary:
High-level clinical review of patients admitted to the University Hospital for the purpose of risk identification and referral to clinical departments for ongoing review of quality improvement focused on the support of the Patient Relations department. Report adverse events to the majority of regulatory agencies and conduct internal quality reviews through the institution-defined quality review process. Supports the Attorney General's office in the review and defense of medical malpractice actions brought against the state. Supports the Patient Relations department with patient complaints that require quality review and/or Risk oversight.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse, NYS License and Bachelors Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field and three years acute care clinical experience or Associates Degree in Nursing and 5 years acute care clinical required. Excellent communication and customer service skills required for interface with health care payers, regulatory agencies and other health care related entities.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPHRM certified. Candidates with quality review experience & familiarity with DOH Regulatory reporting requirements preferred.
