Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify client needs. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing techniques like motivational interviewing, child & youth therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and art or dance therapy when appropriate. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability. Document all clinical interactions meticulously in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, case managers, and research staff to coordinate comprehensive care. Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in clinical research, training on ICD coding updates (ICD-9/ICD-10), telehealth therapy best practices, and medical terminology updates. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral health interventions. Strong knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment planning, case management, and clinical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, client communication documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to manage crisis situations with effective crisis intervention techniques and crisis management skills. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering clinical services via telehealth therapy modalities. Experience working with diverse populations including children with autism or developmental disabilities, geriatrics, individuals with co-occurring disorders or PTSD care needs. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus. Ability to work within clinical ethical guidelines while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations. Skills in medical records management and medical terminology relevant to mental health care settings. Experience providing outpatient or inpatient mental health services in clinic or hospital environments; familiarity with inpatient experience is advantageous.
