Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Specialist to manage and maintain accurate health information records. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of health information management, medical terminology, and healthcare privacy regulations. This role involves ensuring the confidentiality, accuracy, and accessibility of medical records while supporting compliance with health information policies and revenue cycle management processes. Responsibilities Maintain and organize electronic health records (EHR) and paper medical records with precision and confidentiality. Ensure all medical records comply with healthcare privacy protection laws and clinical confidentiality policies. Process documentation requests efficiently while adhering to health information regulatory standards. Collaborate with clinical staff to verify the accuracy of medical documentation and coding. Utilize EHR systems and electronic medical record (EMR) software for record entry, updates, and retrieval. Support revenue cycle management by ensuring billing codes are accurate and complete. Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to health information management practices. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office administration or health information management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EHR/EMR systems. Strong understanding of health regulation policies, healthcare privacy laws, and clinical confidentiality policies. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and records management best practices. Familiarity with healthcare regulatory compliance standards related to health information. Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to sensitive information handling. Prior experience in healthcare or medical records roles is preferred; certification in health information technology is a plus. $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
