Epic Analyst III - Tapestry
About the JobGeneral Summary of PositionWe are actively recruiting for an experienced Epic Analyst III who is certified in Tapestry to join MedStar Health as we prepare to go-live with Epic in Fall 2027.While this is primarily a remote position, travel to the DC/MD area will be required once a month leading up to implementation. Also must be available to travel for required trainings.
Under the general direction of IS leadership is responsible for design implementation and maintenance of Epic solutions and related third-party integrated applications. Contributes to requirement definition processes and use documentation testing troubleshooting upgrades and report development. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) advises and supports IS staff customers and stakeholders on product use and direction. May assist leadership with vendor relationships.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)for Epic applications, providing advanced support, peer problem-solving, training, and guidance to IS teams and users. Acts as a liaison between technical teams, application teams, vendors, and the user community.
Leads Epic application projects and enhancements, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, upgrades, go-lives, and post-implementation support. Coordinates project plans, resources, timelines, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Manages application performance, infrastructure, and system integrity, including monitoring production performance, capacity, backups, application utilization, databases, data dictionaries, master files, and supporting infrastructure. Identifies opportunities for upgrades and improvements.
Leads testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolutionfor software updates, fixes, maintenance, integrations, and operational issues. Develops test plans and scenarios, analyzes system and departmental impacts, and coordinates resolution of complex technical or procedural issues.
Develops and maintains application and user support resources, including documentation, processes, workflows, and training materials. Evaluates and redesigns business processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Supports reporting, analytics, and technology optimizationby developing or assisting with standard and ad hoc reports, evaluating application utilization and effectiveness, and staying current on healthcare technology trends and developments.
Provides ongoing operational support and leadership, including project management, vendor coordination, application integration, and required 24/7 on-call support.
Minimal QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field requiredOne year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience5 years technical experience preferably in a healthcare or business environment requiredOne year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and CertificationsEPIC - Tapestry certification requiredKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesAnalytical ability to solve complex technical problems.
Competent in microcomputing including desktop applications project management and communication and emulation applications.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers.
Understanding of information systems and their impact on customers and their operationsDemonstrates effective communication to align presentation tools with the audience.
