Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Glassware Specialist to join a laboratory services team supporting research and laboratory operations. This contract opportunity is responsible for the collection, cleaning, sterilization, inspection, and distribution of laboratory glassware while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and contamination control standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative laboratory environment. Responsibilities Collect, transport, clean, sterilize, inspect, and distribute laboratory glassware and plasticware. Operate laboratory equipment including glassware washers, autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers, and ultrasonic baths. Inspect glassware for cleanliness, residue, and damage before returning it to laboratory users. Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and monthly de-scaling activities. Maintain equipment logs, temperature records, and documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Support the development, revision, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Mentor and train new team members on laboratory support procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices. Monitor glassware inventory and communicate supply needs to the team lead. Maintain clean, organized work areas while following laboratory safety and contamination control procedures. Collaborate with laboratory support teams and assist with cross-functional projects as needed. Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline OR Associate's degree in a scientific discipline with two or more years of relevant laboratory or operational experience OR High school diploma or equivalent with five or more years of laboratory, manufacturing, or related operational experience. Ability to accurately follow written and verbal procedures. Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting laboratory glass wash or laboratory services operations. Previous experience mentoring or training team members. Experience developing, revising, or maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Experience working in a laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or research environment.
