Role Overview:

Performs clinical laboratory testing under supervision, utilizing established protocols that require independent judgment. Maintains equipment and records, conducts quality assurance activities, and may supervise or train laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures accuracy in patient testing, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency assessments. Maintains proper specimen identification and documents QA investigations and trends. Reports lab data accurately within turnaround times, analyzing and interpreting results with clinical relevance. Monitors and resolves test status issues, documents in LIS, and adheres to departmental procedures and standards. Supports laboratory performance improvement initiatives, contributes to inspection readiness, and practices cost-efficient workflows. Maintains current knowledge of policies, regulatory compliance, and safety standards. Participates in meetings, educational activities, and team projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or related field; advanced degrees preferred. Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent required upon hire. At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred. Proficient in computer data entry, with skills in Excel, Word, and basic computer operations; experience with Epic and 3M is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare team members.
