Medical Technologist works in all sections of the Laboratory (Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Phlebotomy). Duties include performing patient specimen collection through venipuncture, capillary or finger stick, or heel puncture; preparing specimens for testing; conducting chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, and stool; participating and monitoring activities related to continuous quality control; preparing and maintaining documentation; and performing instrument maintenance. Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, CLS, MLS or equivalent required.
Job Duties:
Performs Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunoassay, Arterial Blood Gases, Urinalysis, Hemostasis, Transfusion Services, /Serology, Molecular Diagnostics, Phlebotomy, and other laboratory disciplines; Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine and stool to determine presence of normal and abnormal components; Monitors quality assurance programs and activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results; Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of residents' medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
