We Want to Meet You! Looking for a dental assisting position where you can use both your orthodontic and pediatric dentistry skills —without working five days a week? Popat Orthodontics & Madison Pediatric Dentistry is looking for an experienced Orthodontic & Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. This is a unique dual-specialty position for an assistant who enjoys the variety of working with orthodontic and pediatric dental patients and already has strong, hands-on orthodontic clinical experience. Full orthodontic assisting experience is required for this position. We are a doctor-owned private practice — not corporate dentistry. We're looking for someone who values: Teamwork and a positive attitude Excellent patient care Reliability and accountability Professionalism without the corporate atmosphere Clear and respectful communication Working with children, teens, adults, and families Having fun while still getting the job done Orthodontic Responsibilities You must be comfortable and experienced performing the full scope of day-to-day orthodontic assisting, including: Orthodontic bonding Routine adjustments and wire changes Debonding and finishing procedures Complete orthodontic records Digital intraoral scanning Taking high-quality intraoral and extraoral photographs Taking panoramic and cephalometric digital radiographs Preparing patients and teeth for bonding procedures Placing, changing, and removing archwires as permitted Assisting with loose and broken brackets Placing and removing ligatures, power chains, coil springs, separators, and other orthodontic auxiliaries as permitted Assisting with clear aligner treatment, including digital scans, attachments, delivery, and patient instructions Assisting with orthodontic appliances Delivering retainers and providing retainer-care instructions Providing braces, aligner, retainer, oral-hygiene, and appliance-care instructions Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes Keeping orthodontic operatories organized, stocked, and running efficiently Pediatric Dental Responsibilities You'll also work alongside our pediatric dental team to create positive dental experiences for children and their families.

Responsibilities may include:

Chairside assisting during pediatric dental procedures Assisting with preventive and restorative treatment Preparing treatment rooms and instruments Taking digital radiographs Helping children feel comfortable and confident during dental visits Supporting behavior guidance and patient management Educating children and parents about oral hygiene and post-treatment care Maintaining accurate clinical records Following sterilization and infection-control protocols Keeping treatment rooms stocked, clean, and organized Helping maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day

Who We're Looking ForRequired:

Full hands-on orthodontic assisting experience Ability to confidently perform bondings, adjustments, debonds, orthodontic records, and digital scans Pediatric dental assisting knowledge and/or experience Strong chairside assisting skills Comfortable working with children, adolescents, and families Dependable and punctual Excellent communication skills Professional, organized, and detail-oriented Able to work efficiently in a busy specialty practice Positive attitude and genuine team mentality Private-practice experience is strongly preferred. This is not an entry-level orthodontic position. We are happy to teach the right person how our office operates, but applicants should already possess the clinical orthodontic skills necessary to contribute to patient care.
