We are a dental office in search of a dental assistant to join our growing dental team located in Arroyo Grande! Our team is passionate about providing the best care possible for our community. We are looking for a team member who is open-minded, self-motivated, and a detail-oriented team player who gets the job done. We are open to training the right person. Part-time (3 month probationary period) Expected hours: Minimum 24 hour work week Responsibilities- Welcoming patients in the dental office
- Preparing patients for exams and treatments ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up appropriate instruments, equipment, and materials efficiently for exams and treatments
- Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
- Assisting the dentist during procedure
- Maintaining stock and organization of the dental operatories and sterilization area
- Assist hygienist with room breakdown, instrument and materials set-up
- Managing stock and inventory for dental supplies and materials
- Submit and follow-up on dental lab cases
- Perform four-handed dentistry to assist doctors
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available
- Anticipate the needs of the doctor during procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and patient comfort
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Utilize various office software such as Open Dental, Dental Intelligence, XDR, and Cliniview for patient management and documentation Requirements
- RDA license (must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an RDA)
- High school graduate or GED (required)
- Proficient computer skills
REQUIRED
- Reliable mode of transportation
REQUIRED
- Well-organized and reliable for the indicated work hours (T-Th from 7:50AM-4:50PM)
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures is essential.
- X-ray certificate
- Coronal polishing certificate
- Familiarity with dental software systems (Open Dental preferred)
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
