Aviara Centers is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Dental Assistant to join Aviara, assisting at our main center in Los Alamitos and our Beverly Hills office. Our practice takes a whole-person approach to dentistry, with a focus on aesthetics, oral health, airway function, breathing, ortho, TMJ, sleep, and overall wellness. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of dental assisting experience and an interest in airway-focused, functional, holistic aesthetic dentistry. This position is a great opportunity for a Dental Assistant who enjoys patient education, advanced dental technology, and working in a collaborative, wellness-centered environment. Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials Support airway-focused dental evaluations and treatment appointments Assist with digital impressions, intraoral scans, dental photography, and X-rays when properly trained and certified Record patient information and update clinical notes accurately Assist the provider with gathering information related to breathing, sleep, oral habits, and airway concerns Review home-care and treatment instructions with patients under the provider's direction Help educate patients about the connection between oral health, breathing, sleep, and overall wellness Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control procedures Clean, disinfect, and restock treatment rooms between patients Monitor dental supplies and communicate inventory needs Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their visit Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Work collaboratively with providers, front-office staff, and other members of the care team Qualifications One to two years of dental assisting experience required Interest in airway-focused, functional, biological, or holistic dentistry Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, sterilization, and infection control Strong communication and patient-care skills Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Comfortable discussing wellness-focused treatment concepts with patients Ability to work efficiently in a patient-centered clinical environment Ability to learn new technology, techniques, and treatment protocols Current CPR or BLS certification preferred California radiation safety certification required when performing dental X-rays Registered Dental Assistant certification preferred but not required Experience with intraoral scanning, digital photography, or dental software preferred Knowledge of airway health, sleep-disordered breathing, or myofunctional therapy is a plus but not required Schedule Full-time Working days and hours: 2 days in our Beverly Hills office & 3 days in our Los Alamitos office Flexibility is required based on patient scheduling & operational schedule Benefits Health Insurance Stipend Employee discount on eligible dental, health & aesthetic services Discounted dental care provided through Aviara Centers Paid time off Paid holidays Training and professional development About Aviara Centers Aviara Centers provides patient-centered care with an emphasis on identifying and addressing factors that may affect oral health, breathing, sleep, and overall well-being.
