Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order. Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment following strict safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to provide excellent patient care. Process dental instruments according to infection prevention management policies using aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing clear instructions on post-treatment care. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and patient information. Familiarity with dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization techniques and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills to effectively support patients of all ages including pediatrics and provide compassionate care.
