The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, compassion, and professionalism are paramount. The Dental Assistant will support dentists in delivering exceptional oral healthcare while ensuring smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry practices. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure clinical confidentiality policies are upheld. Provide patient management support by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Maintain dental equipment through proper cleaning, sterilization procedures, and inventory management of dental instruments and supplies. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow using patient management software, and ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out. Adhere to infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and following healthcare infection prevention protocols consistently. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems), Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and other patient management software platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry and oral surgery. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and healthcare infection control expertise. Skilled in taking dental x-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages as well as team members; ability to explain treatment plans clearly. Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while managing sensitive medical records. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside support during complex procedures like endodontics or prosthodontics.
