In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Mogo ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care and medical history updates. Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience with dental assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery. Proficiency in dental equipment operation including dental sterilization procedures, dental x-ray machines, and 3D scanners. Familiarity with EMR systems like Mogo for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance and quality care. Strong understanding of infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
