Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of exceptional patient care by assisting the dental team with clinical procedures, patient management, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a professional setting that emphasizes clinical excellence, infection control, and patient comfort. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to healthcare regulations and confidentiality policies. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and materials, ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as general dentistry, oral surgery, Implants, cosmetic dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using dental X-ray equipment and 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards for radiation exposure. Manage patient records using patient management software Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Record vital signs and medical history information; update medical documentation and records accurately. Assist with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Provide chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and explain dental terminology clearly. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, confirming visits, and managing patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and dental equipment to ensure a safe working environment. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with dental clinic operations is highly advantageous. Proficiency with EMR system Dentrix is desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection prevention management, and sterilization procedures is essential. Experience with dental imaging including X-ray techniques and 3D scanning a must. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies is required. Skills in chairside assisting across various specialties such as oral surgery, implant placement and oral sedation are highly valued. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in medical documentation and records management. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
