Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor vital signs as needed and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Skills Proficient in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Experience with medical imaging techniques and infection control protocols. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is preferred. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Strong understanding of medical coding, documentation, and records management. Ability to operate 3D scanners for advanced imaging needs. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
