Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental office procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service within a fast-paced environment. As an Experienced Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise in dental technology and patient management will contribute to providing comprehensive oral healthcare and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all patients. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry. Experience in ortho and other specialties is a plus! Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and adherence to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-ray images while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical documentation, and explaining procedures to patients to enhance their understanding and comfort. Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold clinical hygiene standards. Operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools with proficiency. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, and providing post-treatment instructions in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in the procurement of dental instruments and materials as needed. Uphold healthcare infection prevention and control standards by following established protocols for infection prevention management. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general dentistry or specialty practice. Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant license and Radiology Certification are required. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques and dental sterilization processes. Familiarity with infection control practices aligned with healthcare standards for aseptic technique and infection prevention management. Experience supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during clinical procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds while maintaining professionalism in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prior exposure and a strong foundation in general dentistry is essential.
