Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty treatments with chairside assisting techniques. Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using advanced patient management software including OpenDental, or similar EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to ensure comprehensive care and accurate documentation. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating with the front desk team to optimize clinic efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to oral health care. Proficiency in using dental software such as OpenDental for patient records management. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while following safety protocols for radiation exposure. Strong understanding of infection control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to support patient care and collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other clinical staff.
