Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are properly processed according to infection prevention management protocols Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Monitor vital signs and collect medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor as a dental receptionist when needed Adhere to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or other patient management software systems Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry specialties is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively manage patient care and collaborate with team members This is more than just a job — it's an opportunity to make a difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in a supportive environment that values your expertise.
