Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately documenting medical history, vital signs, treatment notes, and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to general dentistry or pediatric dentistry procedures. Support patient management by scheduling appointments using patient management software and coordinating follow-up visits to optimize clinic flow. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring infection control standards are upheld through proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient data efficiently. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental assisting roles. Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow during procedures. Familiarity with infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control expertise. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
