Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment. Educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and record keeping. Support the overall operation of the dental office, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for children. Requirements Previous experience in dental assisting, particularly in a pediatric setting, is preferred. Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry principles. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records. Ability to communicate effectively with children and their guardians, fostering a friendly environment.
