In this vital role, you will support orthodontic treatment procedures, ensure exceptional patient care, and maintain a smooth clinical workflow. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for our patients while adhering to all clinical confidentiality and infection control policies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your expertise in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry within a collaborative environment. Duties Assist orthodontists during patient examinations, adjustments, and appliance placements using chairside assisting techniques. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, including 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines, following infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions while providing excellent patient care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient management software. Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to aseptic techniques, infection control standards, and dental equipment maintenance protocols. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures relevant to orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools safely and effectively. Excellent patient management skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Familiarity with healthcare infection control standards such as HIPAA compliance and aseptic techniques. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members as part of four-handed dentistry practices and supporting dental reception duties when needed.
