Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as digital X-ray systems and 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and accurate imaging. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain dental instruments and equipment, including sterilization procedures for dental tools and ensuring all clinical areas meet infection control standards. Support front desk operations by managing patient scheduling, answering inquiries with professionalism as a dental receptionist, and coordinating patient flow efficiently. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and documentation. Assist with dental instrument processing to ensure readiness for upcoming procedures and adherence to aseptic techniques. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and infection prevention protocols. Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record keeping. Experience with digital X-ray systems, 3D scanners, and other advanced dental imaging technology. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient information. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Ability to work effectively in pediatric dentistry settings or specialized areas like endodontics or prosthodontics is a plus.
