Job Description

Salem Periodontal & Implant Specialists is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Dental Assistant - Periodontal & Implant to join our periodontal and implant specialty team. We work 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday, from 7:20 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Position Duties Assist the periodontist during oral surgery, periodontal, and dental implant procedures . Prepare treatment rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures. Assist with surgical procedures while maintaining a safe, sterile, and organized environment. Prepare and maintain surgical trays and instruments. Follow all infection-control, sterilization, OSHA, and patient-safety protocols. Welcome, prepare, and reassure patients before surgical and implant procedures. Review and document medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs. Take dental X-rays and clinical photographs as permitted by applicable regulations. Assist with patient monitoring during procedures and promptly communicate concerns to the doctor. Provide patients with clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions . Answer patient questions and provide compassionate support throughout the treatment experience. Assist with implant components, surgical materials, grafting materials, and laboratory cases. Maintain accurate clinical notes, charting, and treatment documentation. Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and properly maintain instruments and treatment areas. Maintain clinical supply inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Assist with scheduling surgical appointments, follow-up visits, and patient treatment coordination. Communicate professionally with patients, doctors, hygienists, and the front-office team. Help ensure patients receive a positive, comfortable, and professional experience. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education. Perform other duties related to oral surgery, periodontal treatment, implants, and patient care as assigned. Ideal Candidate Previous dental assisting or oral surgery assisting experience preferred. Periodontal, implant, or surgical dental experience is a plus. Compassionate and comfortable working with surgical patients. Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask. Professional and friendly communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty dental practice. Committed to patient safety, infection control, and excellent patient care. Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow. Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.0 - 40.0 per week
