EFDA Dental Assistant/Dental Assistant
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following aseptic techniques
- Assist with dental lab work as needed
Requirements:
- Dental assisting certification or relevant experience
- Proficiency in Dentrix or Eaglesoft software for managing patient records
- Knowledge of medical documentation and record keeping
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus
- Ability to perform dental x-rays and use proper radiation safety measures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages
