Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Open Dental, ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies. Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing compassionate patient care tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and following infection control protocols diligently. Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software, verifying insurance information, and guiding patients through their visit process. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical documentation practices. Skilled in radiography including dental x-ray techniques and proficiency with advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards. Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; familiarity with patient management software enhances efficiency. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous; ability to handle pediatric patients with patience and care is essential. Excellent communication skills combined with a thorough understanding of medical terminology related to oral health care.
