Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing preventive oral health services, educating patients on proper dental care, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental practice. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments in collaboration with dentists. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Support general dentistry procedures by preparing treatment rooms and assisting with patient care as needed. Manage infection control measures to uphold the highest standards of healthcare safety within the clinic environment. Skills Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Open Dental for documentation and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while adhering to safety standards. Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with EMR/EHR management, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique. Understanding of medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring for comprehensive patient assessment.
