Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring compliance with all safety and confidentiality standards. Your passion for helping others and your technical skills will contribute to creating a positive, comfortable environment for every patient. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing preventive measures and oral hygiene techniques. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, documenting all procedures accurately. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe clinical environment. Maintain dental equipment, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure all tools are sterilized according to HIPAA and healthcare standards. Communicate effectively with patients about their treatment plans while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, medical imaging, and patient care activities as needed. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Familiarity with EHR/EHR management systems is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, healthcare infection control expertise, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental health topics. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in maintaining detailed medical records.
