Dental Hygienist

Overview Flexible and fun dental office looking for Full-time Hygienist. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health. Assist dentists during various procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other clinical treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques. Manage documentation review, medical coding, and billing processes related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping. Support the dental team by managing inventory of supplies and assisting with administrative tasks as needed. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry practices preferred. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient care is essential. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics; compassionate approach required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of medical records. Familiarity with documentation review, medical coding, and medical records management within a dental setting. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and recordkeeping activities.
