The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in maintaining oral health, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, and other preventive dental services with precision and care. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment planning. Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging equipment while maintaining radiation safety standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dental care routines, and post-treatment instructions to promote optimal oral health. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation review and medical coding for billing purposes. Maintain infection prevention management by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in compliance with healthcare standards. Operate dental equipment efficiently, including ultrasonic scalers, curing lights, and sterilization tools. Ensure patient comfort throughout visits by providing compassionate care and addressing concerns effectively. Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times and managing sensitive medical records securely. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific protocols is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting seamlessly during various dental procedures. Expertise in medical imaging techniques including X-ray interpretation and digital radiography. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection prevention management. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation review and medical records management.
