Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation adheres to HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical documentation and records securely. Support the dental team with instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining dental equipment to ensure optimal operation. Uphold healthcare infection prevention and control expertise by practicing aseptic techniques and following infection control protocols rigorously. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient patient management. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy enhances your ability to assist effectively during procedures. Hands-on experience with dental X-ray technology, 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and medical imaging is advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control practices is required. Proven ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques enhances workflow efficiency.
