Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Floating Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, sterilization procedures, and patient care, with the flexibility to support multiple dental providers across various specialties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop comprehensive skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and infection prevention. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, adherence to clinical confidentiality policies, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and efficient dental environment. Responsibilities Assist dental providers chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained according to infection control standards. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation. Take and develop dental x-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols. Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management to ensure comfort and safety throughout visits. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, imaging techniques including X-ray procedures. Strong understanding of dental equipment operation. Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols within a healthcare environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry practices across multiple specialties. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages.
