3:00 PM - 6:00 PM No evenings beyond 6:00 PM No weekends No holidays Schedule We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to join our dental team in a part-time Sterilization & Office Care Technician position.
Our regular schedule is:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday:
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM One week each month: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Approximately 12 hours per week This position is particularly well suited for someone who is specifically looking for a consistent afternoon/evening part-time schedule and enjoys working independently in a clean, organized healthcare environment. Position Overview The Sterilization & Office Care Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and properly sterilized clinical environment at the end of each business day. This is an important behind-the-scenes position. The work you do each afternoon helps ensure that our dental team comes in each morning to a clean, organized, fully prepared office and that our patients receive care in a safe and professional environment. Dental experience is not required. We will provide training to the right person. Primary ResponsibilitiesInstrument Sterilization & Clinical Turnover Collect, transport, clean, inspect, package and sterilize dental instruments according to office protocols and infection-control standards. Operate sterilization equipment, including the autoclave, after appropriate training. Properly package instruments for sterilization and organize sterilized instruments in designated storage areas. Monitor sterilization cycles and complete required sterilization logs. Perform and document required biological/chemical monitoring according to office protocols. Clean and disinfect instrument processing areas and sterilization equipment. Maintain an organized sterilization area and notify the clinical team when supplies are running low. Properly clean, lubricate and maintain dental handpieces according to manufacturer and office protocols. Assist with cleaning and preparing treatment rooms for the following business day. Properly dispose of contaminated materials, sharps and regulated waste according to office procedures. Follow all OSHA, infection-control and office safety procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Daily Office Cleaning Vacuum carpets and floors. Sweep and mop hard-surface floors as needed. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, counters and other high-touch surfaces. Dust furniture, countertops, ledges and other office surfaces. Empty trash and replace liners throughout the office. Clean staff areas, break room and other common areas. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and light switches. Keep the sterilization room, clinical areas and utility areas clean and orderly. Water office plants as needed. Monitor general cleanliness throughout the office and bring maintenance or cleaning concerns to management's attention. End-of-Day Office Readiness Ensure sterilized instruments and supplies are properly stored and ready for use. Restock commonly used sterilization and cleaning supplies. Check that sterilization areas and treatment rooms are clean and organized. Help ensure the office is orderly and ready for the next business day. Identify supplies that are running low and communicate needs to the appropriate team member. Report equipment, plumbing, cleaning or facility concerns promptly. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Extremely dependable and punctual. Detail-oriented and takes pride in doing things correctly. Comfortable following established procedures and checklists. Able to work independently without needing constant supervision. Naturally organized and enjoys keeping things clean and orderly. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks carefully and consistently. Physically able to stand, bend, reach and lift light-to-moderate items throughout the shift. Comfortable working around dental instruments and following infection-control procedures. Professional, trustworthy and respectful of patient privacy. Someone who notices when something needs to be cleaned, organized, restocked or addressed—and takes care of it. A team player who understands that their work directly supports the clinical team. No Dental Experience Necessary We are willing to train the right person. Previous dental or medical experience is helpful but not required . We are more interested in finding someone who is: Reliable + conscientious + detail-oriented + willing to learn. If you have experience in cleaning, healthcare, hospitality, childcare, food service, housekeeping, or another environment where cleanliness and attention to detail are important, those skills may transfer very well to this position. Pay:
